Which Kind Of Star Are You?
By Mark Flippo
There is an old saying "You are so heavenly minded that you are of no earthly good!' How do you fit in with God? Have you ever asked yourself this question? Are you a messenger that God can use? Do you listen when He calls you? Can you hear that Still Small Voice? Or are you one that needs a Earthquake to get your attention? God has certainly gotten my attention before in different ways.
I have been through Tornadoes and they are not fun. Beside being slightly hard of hearing when they pass by or over you, they sound like a freight train going by your house!! Back in the 60s" I lived outside of Des Moines, Iowa. We had a humdinger come through. It tore a wide berth from downtown to Altoona, Iowa. We lived between them. It skipped over the house where my sister and I were hiding in the basement, and took a huge tree that would take three adult men to hold hands to reach around it.
It tore off shingles but left the corrugated barn roofs. Then onto the Baptist church that had just finished a new brick building was destroyed. I do not need that kind of wake up call these days. Whatever you are given in life whither to rise to great heights or to dive to great depths, if you are in the will of God you will have a beautiful legacy to leave to your children!
