LOOKOUT STAMPEDE!
By Mark Flippo
The red crab is native to Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands in the Indian Ocean. Although restricted to a relatively small area, it has been estimated that 43.7 million adult red crabs live on Christmas Island alone. The red crabs are well known for their annual mass migration to the sea to lay their eggs in the ocean. The red crabs are rather large crabs(4.6 in) wide. The claws are usually of equal size, unless one becomes injured or detached, in which case the limb will regenerate. Bright red is their most common color, but some can be orange or the much rarer purple.
I think I would want to be in a vehicle of some kind when these come walking by. Definitely no bare feet walking through this group! God gave them migration for a reason. I have no clue but people that spend their lives in this field of study understand this behavior. God gave us all instincts, the fight or flight response is built in. How do you react when your scared? When your angry do you punch somebody or do you stop for a second and think your response through? God gave us quick thinking to help us. Use it wisely!
