Many Extra Arms
By Mark Flippo
Hey all moms out there how many times could you have used and extra arm or two.
Ask anyone how many arms an octopus has and the usual answer will be eight. But scientists now insist these nautical animals only have six. In a new study they found that the creatures used six of their tentacles as arms and two as legs. Marine experts at 20 Sea Life centers across Europe gathered data from over 2,000 separate observations. They found common octopuses moved over the ground using their back two limbs, leaving the remaining six for eating.
This is a shock to me! I always heard that regular Octopus had eight arms. Now I found out I have been taught wrong all my life. They have two legs, can you imagine. This little fella above is a rare find. I have no idea in his case how many are arms! Writing this also made me think about how many things I have misunderstood because of inaccurate information! Make sure and find things out for yourself. Especially about scripture! Ask God for direction and understanding no matter who is telling you what! Let Jesus guide. Information is helpful but not a guarantee of Truth!
