A Strong Backbone

My parents would tell me to have a strong backbone. I am not sure if this is what they meant. My dad said when you shake hands with a man don't give a wimpy version of yourself. Men should have a strong handshake! Except during and after an accident. They would say stand up for yourself. Don't throw the first punch! You need a hard shell on the outside but be a little like a puppy inside! Most like to hug a puppy. You have to know from God which way you should be in your current situation! We need to have a backbone as Christians but not hard headed!!
