Lemmings Suicide
By Mark Flippo
Lemmings have become the subject of a widely popular misconception that they commit mass suicide when they migrate, by jumping off cliffs. It is in fact not a mass suicide but the result of their migratory behavior. Driven by strong biological urges, some species of lemmings may migrate in large groups when population density becomes too great. Lemmings can swim and may choose to cross a body of water in search of a new habitat. In such cases, many may drown if the body of water is so wide as to stretch their physical capability to the limit. This fact, combined with the unexplained fluctuations in the population of Norwegian lemmings, gave rise to the misconception.
What we think of as truth is not always so. I understood the lemmings would run to the ocean and drown themselves. Has anyone else understood that? It just goes to show you we take some things as truth that are a common misconception! It seems like if you tell something over and over again it becomes accepted as truth! This method of disinformation has been used for a great many years by so many! It is not a concept limited to governments, hate groups, etc. and church organizations! Yes sad but true. Sometimes God has left so many believing a lie.
2 Thessalonians Chapter 2:
10-And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth,
that they might be saved.
11-And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12-That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Maybe it's time to examine ourselves! Do you truly line up with His Word?
