WATCH OUT FOR FALLING ROCKS
By Mark Flippo
I can remember huge signs reading this on our way to Arkansas from Iowa. We lived north but all our grandparents lived in the south. We went through the Ozarks on a two lane winding highway (The original Highway 65). That was a very long time ago. Of course as kids we would ask every so often, "Are we there yet?" Then our dad would get to that point that he would say, "Say that again just one more time and I will turn us back around and we will go home!"
Us kids would get so excited and wide eyed as we would see boulders and rocks of all sizes at the side of the road. We could just imagine one coming at us. Of course sweet children that we were we could not resist scaring my little sister, Veva. We would point and holler here comes a rock. Somehow our parents did not appreciate the humor.
How often are we looking for something bad to happen and it does not. We waste time thinking what if this or that happens. GOD wants us to be excited as children are, about where HE is taking us on this journey of life. But never scared. HE is always in control. If a boulder starts coming your way HE will head it off! HE is our ever Faithful Father always watching over us!
